In short, once every 60 seconds, Outlook and then Microsoft Database Daemon ramp up to use nearly 100% of the CPU between them. This lasts for about 17 seconds and it seems to coincide with the spinning wheel. Also, I’ve tried Sync Services both on and off, and it makes no difference. When I put Outlook in Work Offline mode, the Database Daemon doesn’t appear and the performance problem goes away. The only problem is that I’m offline. I believe the performance issues are related to Sync Services even though Sync is off. Any guidance would be appreciated.
